Dr. Richard Nurse is a third generation veterinarian, and the third generation of the Nurse family to run Moore Veterinary Hospital. His grandfather, father, godfather, and uncle are all veterinarians. At 10, he found his dad’s book of dog breeds, and thought the hardest part of becoming a vet would be remembering all the different kinds of dogs… It was… But he knows all of the dog breeds now.
At 15, Dr. Nurse started working at Moore Veterinary as a kennel assistant. He graduated from Michigan State University’s veterinary program, and bought Moore Veterinary Hospital from his dad in 1986, when his dad retired.
Dr. Nurse and his highly skilled team provide high-quality dental, medical and surgical services for dogs and cats within the physical, emotional, and financial capabilities of the pet owner, and provide a professional, compassionate environment for the animals. When he isn’t at work, he loves spending time with his family, 18 holes of golf, and traveling.
